The Stockman Is a New Auberge Property With $19 Million Penthouses

It’s never too early to start thinking ahead to where you’ll spend the winter a few years from now.

Enter The Stockman, Auberge Collection, which is expected to debut in Colorado‘s Steamboat Springs in 2030. The ski-in/ski-out property will include 95 private residences and a 59-key hotel, along with a slate of premium perks associated with the Auberge brand. Sales have just launched, with prices ranging from $1.6 million to $19 million.

“Steamboat has earned its place among North America’s most desirable mountain destinations because it has never lost sight of what makes it unique,” says Eric Nordness, the managing principal of Marquee Development, the firm behind the project. “With the Stockman, we set out to create a project that reflects the quality and sophistication of the world’s leading resort communities while staying true to the character and authenticity that define Steamboat.”

The residential units, designed by Denver-based OZ Architecture, will range from studios and one-bedrooms to five-bedroom penthouses with interiors by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects that will emphasize clean lines, natural materials, and warm tones. Larger layouts, including three-bedroom units, will feature kitchens with built-in breakfast nooks, with buyers able to choose between two color palettes: one dark and moody, with dark-gray stone countertops and moss-green walls, and another brighter scheme featuring white-veined counters and patterned wallpaper.

The project’s signature offerings are 13 rooftop barn homes, with designs inspired by traditional ranches found throughout the Mountain West. Soaring double-height ceilings anchor the entertaining spaces, with loft areas overlooking the living room. Windows frame mountain views, opening onto terraces that overlook skiers whooshing down the slopes. Already, during the sales soft launch, three of these barn residences have been placed under contract, with the Stockman seeing $90 million in contracts overall.

The broader Auberge property will offer residents access to a full-service spa, three restaurants, and an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Skiers will benefit from ski-in/ski-out access, along with dedicated ski lockers and a ski valet, making the resort’s cozy après area an easy final stop after a day on the slopes.
