Azimut is soaring into new territory with the Fly 82.

The new 82-footer is not only the largest model in the Italian yard’s popular Fly series, but also the first of the flybridge motor yachts to feature Azimut’s trademark Deck2Deck terrace, resulting in a large alfresco entertaining space at the stern.

The model, unveiled late last year, features an exterior by Alberto Mancini with sculpted yet sharply defined lines running from bow to stern. The interiors, meanwhile, were penned by Fabio Fantolino and combine classic Italian style with open-air living. 

The living quarters showcase large panoramic windows and a neutral palette with a new orange-brown accent hue, creating a light, airy vibe throughout. With a volume of 80 GT, the yacht comfortably holds four generous cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite. The main salon is the social heart, with a large L-shaped sofa and a circular marble table offering seating for family and friends. 

A sliding glass door leads aft to a lounge and the Deck2Deck terrace. This nifty innovation, which debuted on the Grande 26M, allows the teak-clad transom to rise to the main deck, effectively extending the aft cockpit by nearly five feet and creating a terrace overlooking the water. Two sets of stairs lead directly from the deck to the swim platform and garage below. At the opposite end, the foredeck is equipped with a huge sunpad. 

Up top, the signature flybridge houses an “American bar” with fixed stools, a grill, a fridge, and an ice maker, along with a dining area and more lounge seating. The fixed hardtop provides shelter from the elements, too, meaning the area can be enjoyed in all sorts of weather.

As for propulsion, the Fly 82 can be equipped with three Volvo Penta IPS engines rated at either 900 hp or 1,000 hp, giving it an approximate top speed of 32 knots and cruising speed of 25 knots. Built under Azimut’s Low Emission Yachts initiative, the vessel combines an optimized hull with extensive carbon fiber and IPS engines to reduce carbon emissions by  20 to 30 percent compared with similar-sized yachts that use traditional shaft line propulsion. It is also equipped with the Watchit Eye system, which uses AI to detect obstacles and hazards.
