Two-time NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist Allan Houston has been celebrated for multiple career highlights since 1999, when the 6’6” New York Knicks guard sank the winning shot in Game 5 of the playoffs against the Miami Heat. His team became the first eighth-seed in NBA history to reach the NBA Finals as a result. Given the Knicks’ recent win of the 2026 edition, he remains an enduring example of the team’s unwavering grit.
By 2015, Houston’s name sparked headlines for a different kind of trophy. The 55-year-old first listed his sprawling French Country estate in Armonk, N.Y., for $19.9 million that year, the Wall Street Journal revealed. A custom manor with nearly 17,200 square feet of living space was built in 2006 on 10 lush acres for the retired athlete and his wife, Tamara, plus their seven children in Conyers Farm, a gated enclave straddling a New York and Connecticut border. An indoor basketball court and trophy room are two of its perks.

Architect James Davis designed the eight-bedroom limestone manor on Converse Lake. Eleven full bathrooms and grand open living spaces—from a great room to a recreation room—offer ample room for both large gatherings and casual everyday living. It was last listed in April 2025 with an asking price of $20 million, records show. It is now available with Danielle Claroni and Christian Perry of Sotheby’s International Realty, Greenwich Brokerage at a reduced price of $17.5 million.
An expansive courtyard and four-car garage span the front of the palatial digs with a three-story, stone-clad facade. Inside, smooth hardwood flooring runs throughout the main living areas, where a large fireplace anchors the great room alongside intimate seating areas. The music room features a grand piano, while the kitchen island has integrated seating and a nearby dining room is centered by a dual-sided fireplace.

Elsewhere are a sophisticated study and a recreation room with a bar and billiards table. Decorative wallpapers with stripes and leafy motifs span the bedrooms, including the primary suite. In the primary bath, a freestanding soaking tub sits on a floor of polished onyx tile, while built-in shoe storage and rich wood finishes in the suite’s two dressing rooms enhance the sense of refinement.
Its most striking feature, however, is tied to Houston’s blazing 12-season NBA career. The indoor half basketball court, complete with a three-point line and barreled ceilings overhead, is complemented by a full gym and steam room. Other amenities include a home theater, while a heated pool and spa, putting green for golfers, and a playground span the grounds.

Houston was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1993 and played with them for three seasons before hooping with the New York Knicks from 1996 to 2005. The FISLL founder currently serves as a senior advisor for leadership development with the team and attended Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals on June 13 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. He even posed for a portrait with the trophy following the Knicks’ win, which ended a 53-year title drought. Talk about a full-circle moment.
