If your weekend TV binges consist of real estate-focused shows like Fixer Upper or Property Brothers, then you’ll be very familiar with Home & Garden Television (HGTV). Kenneth W. Lowe cofounded the network in 1994, quickly turning it into a media juggernaut with a massive, multi-platform presence and a slate of Emmy Award-winning titles. He has had a similar, transformative effect on one Georgia mansion.
Named LoweTide, the European-style residence is on the market for $42 million with Susan Imhoff of Deloach Sotheby’s International Realty. If it sells for that amount, it will become the most expensive home in Sea Island, a privately owned resort island in Glynn County. That title is currently held by a neighboring home that sold for $30 million in December 2025. LoweTide’s multimillion-dollar asking also makes it Georgia’s second-most expensive listing, behind the $46.8 million Chestnut Hall.

Lowe and his wife, Julia, also stand to gain an impressive return on investment, with the current asking price over four times the $9.1 million they paid for the pad in 2017. After closing, the couple planned to make a few small tweaks, but ended up gut-renovating it over four years, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Julia spearheaded much of the design, drawing on her years living in Paris for inspiration. The 11,000-square-foot residence exudes European elegance, combining grand proportions with an array of classic details, such as custom parquet flooring by Fogile d’Oro, hand-carved moldings by J.P. Weaver, and lavish crystal chandeliers by St. Louis. Adding further to that luxurious feel is hand-selected Italian marble, decorative wallpapers, custom hardware by P.E. Guerin, and bespoke cabinetry by Clive Christian.

The spacious living quarters comprise five bedrooms and nine full bathrooms. The primary suite is, of course, fit for TV royalty, offering a living area with a fireplace, plus dual marble-finished bathrooms that open to separate dressing rooms. Other interior highlights include a mint-green dining room with a skylight, a coffered-ceiling library with a bar, and not one but two kitchens. The chef’s kitchen, built on site by Officine Gullo, includes walk-in refrigeration, a dedicated prep space, and a chef’s office.

Heading outside, the manicured grounds feature a quatrefoil pool and a climate-controlled loggia with heated flooring for year-round entertaining. Last but not least, a four-car garage with a lift can store all of your prized rides.
Back in 2021, Lowe made headlines for paying $12.7 million in cash for a New York City condo located on Billionaires’ Row at One57. French architect Christian de Portzamparc designed the three-bedroom aerie with a corner great room and Central Park views. He is clearly a man of great taste.
