47 is the lucky number of this new yacht.
Forte Yacht’s debut vessel, called the Forte 47 Gran Turismo, just began its sea trials in Italy, and the new company has shared a glimpse at all its details inside and out. Stretching 47 feet in length, the aluminum yacht can also dart to—you may have guessed it—47 knots on the high seas.
Starting with the exterior, designer Paolo Giordano is the mind behind the yacht’s sleek, elegant look from bow to stern. The Forte 47 Gran Turismo is home to over 430 square feet of living space, thanks to the help of its expandable drop-down side wings (which can be equipped with ladders that drop straight into the ocean). Underneath the black full-beam hardtop, you’ll find plenty of places to stay perched at the helm. For even more living space, there’s a sofa aft and a cabinet with a grill and sink that can turn into a bar space. That sofa can also transform into a mini movie theater, as a flatscreen TV can be pulled out from behind the pilot-seat cabinet. Also in the aft is the trio of 600 hp Mercury Verado V-12 engines.
Giordano worked on the interiors, too, which can be configuration to the owner’s wishes. For its standard design, though, you can expect a spacious owner’s cabin paired alongside a guest cabin with a double and single bed, each equipped with space to store your belongings. Both accommodations have their own bathroom, too, something that is highly uncommon aboard yachts of this size, according to Forte.

The owner also has a choice to make in terms of propulsion onboard. You can opt for outboards, with offers up more power, or the inboard Volvo Penta IPS system, which makes for a more relaxing ride. With the latter, you’ll get a longer range on the seas, but at the cost of a slightly lower top speed of 37 knots and loss of toy storage under the aft deck; that propulsion also frees up space in the aft, which can then be converted into another lounging area with a hydraulic platform for direct access to the water. Plus, Forte can also enclose the cockpit and add heating, which can help you cruise during colder weather.
“Acceleration is breathtaking and the ride is both stable and responsive in a wide range of sea conditions,” Forte Yachts partner and technical manager Livio Franchini said in a press statement. “Beyond the mere numbers, this boat is an absolute joy to drive and has incredible presence on the water. All of us at Forte Yachts are delighted with the team that has helped to turn our yachting philosophy into reality. The vision of distinctive design, incredible detailing, and superyacht quality makes the Forte 47 Gran Turismo a compelling platform.”
Forte Yachts hopped on the boating scene only last year, as a new endeavor from the folks at West Navaltech to focus on all things refined on the water. As for its official debut following its sea trials, the Forte 47 Gran Turismo will be unveiled at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
