A few months ago, I made an uncharacteristically impulsive decision: I got a tattoo.
Like all good practitioners of this ancient form of body decoration, the artist who inked me gave me a specific list of instructions to take care of my skin in the days and weeks that followed. When that timeline started to dwindle, I began looking for a moisturizer that I could use to make the new letters on my arm look as good as possible for as long as possible. But most of the options—though perfectly effective—were packaged with names and designs that made me take the contents of their containers somewhat less seriously.
Fortunately, all of this happened around the same time that Beau Domaine, the award-winning skincare line founded by Brad Pitt and France’s Perrin winemaking family, launched its body and tattoo cream. The luxurious formula, like the rest of the Beau Domaine lineup, is backed by serious research into how skin ages, is derived from ingredients almost entirely of natural origin, and comes in a mostly recycled (yet nice to look at) metal tube.
The key ingredient here is GSM10, a patent-pending molecule derived from a decade of research into the Perrin family’s grape pomace—the seeds and skins left over from the winemaking process, which scientists have found has a potent ability to help the skin renew itself. In combination with other skincare workhorses, it combats oxidative stress that leads to signs of aging, protects the integrity of the skin’s collagen, and even preserves the skin’s microbiome.
All of these elements help to preserve the youthful functioning of the skin, which helps tattoos look sharper and more colorful for longer. But what I like most about the cream—other than its fresh, neutral scent, and the fact that it absorbs into the skin quickly and easily—is that you can use it from head to toe, even if you don’t have tattoos. Think of it as a way to keep the skin on your body looking as great as the skin on your face.
