While Miami‘s Star and Indian Creek islands are known for their headline-making residents, Grove Isle has historically attracted a quieter roster of business leaders, philanthropists, diplomats, and other influential figures who tend to prize privacy over publicity. Connected to Coconut Grove by a short, controlled-access bridge, the 20-acre island has earned a reputation as one of the city’s most discreet waterfront enclaves.
Originally formed from land reclaimed from Biscayne Bay during Florida’s land boom of the 1920s, Grove Isle was transformed into a private residential community in the late 1970s. For decades, its built landscape remained largely unchanged until the completion of Vita at Grove Isle in 2025. The sleek, seven-story condominium follows the curve of the shoreline and represents the island’s first major new development in more than 40 years.

The 40-foot pool overlooks Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.

One of the building’s duplex penthouses, with roughly 13,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor space, is now available as a turnkey residence through Nelson Gonzalez at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty at $23.5 million. With interiors by Artefacto, the fully furnished residence spans about 7,000 square feet with 11-foot ceilings and a 2,000-square-foot great room with walls of glass that slide open to a 13-foot deep and 97-foot-long waterside terrace. Sophisticated technologies include a comprehensive Crestron smart home system and Lutron HomeWorks lighting.
The chef-caliber Molteni kitchen delivers a masterclass in luxe minimalism, pairing hardware-free lacquered wood cabinetry and integrated appliances with dramatic chocolate-brown marble surfaces. The richly veined stone waterfalls over the center island add warmth and visual depth to the clean-lined composition.

The 2,000-square-foot great room spills onto a 97-foot-long bayside terrace.

All four bedrooms have walk-in closets, private baths, and direct access to outdoor space. Two guest bedrooms share a street-side terrace, while a junior primary suite enjoys its own outdoor space. The 600-square-foot primary suite is the most impressive of the four, with two walk-in closets, a wood-paneled bath, and a 450-square-foot bedroom that opens onto the bayfront terrace.
A spiral staircase winds up from the great room to an entertainment lounge, where a wall of glass slides open to a 97-foot-long bi-level roof terrace complete with built-in bench seating and a summer kitchen. The pièce de résistance, however, is a 40-foot-long private pool overlooking Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.
