If you’re a design-forward buyer with an interest in experimental residential architecture and are ready to spread your wings and settle down in Atlanta, this brand-new home brings a bold approach to modern living in the city’s Buckhead neighborhood.
Known as Wingspan, the 6,150-square-foot residence takes its name from the parabolic roofline that floats above the structure like an airplane wing. That feature is the brainchild of esteemed architect Michael Sizemore, a fellow at the American Institute of Architects. Completed this year after a three-year design process, the home was developed in collaboration with builder Peter McMaster of Theory Homes.

Just off the living room, a curved bar and adjoining lounge gives a ’70s vibe.

The eye-catching abode is all smooth white stucco and hand-laid white bricks, paired with walls of glass and industrial steel. White oak was used as a unifying element, with the wide-plank floorboards and kitchen cabinetry. A sculptural central island defines the kitchen, with both a casual breakfast area and a separate dining room nearby.

The main gathering space is a double-height living room with soaring 22-foot ceilings and an 18-foot natural brick fireplace. Just off to the side, a bar and lounge area evokes a subtle ’70s-style conversation pit but without the sunken layout. Also on this level is an en suite bedroom, along with an office that includes a separate visitor entrance—a thoughtful addition.

An arched clerestory window fills the primary bathroom with sunlight.

Glass walls wrap around the primary bedroom on the upper floor, offering views of the Buckhead skyline in the distance. The accompanying bathroom sports dual quartz vanities and an oversize porcelain shower topped by an arched clerestory window. The third and fourth bedrooms are also found up here. A fifth bedroom could be added on the home’s lower level, which offers ample space for flexible expansions that could include a media room, a fitness center, an art studio, or whatever else your heart desires.

Outdoor spaces include a small event lawn at the front of the house and a courtyard outside the office centered around a Japanese maple tree. Elsewhere, a half-moon saltwater pool is set into a turfed terrace framed by more than 25 mature Thuja Green Giant evergreens. The property is listed for $4.5 million with Matthew Doyle and David Goodrowe of Compass.
