The Porsche Macan GTS Is Here With Up to 536 HP

Porsche’s family of all-electric vehicles just gained a new member.

The German sports car maker unveiled a GTS variant of the new-ish Macan Electric on Tuesday. The latest version of the battery-powered SUV is a performance-oriented model that will sit just below the range-topping Turbo.

Porsche has wasted little time building out the Macan Electric lineup. The brand’s second entirely electric vehicle, after the Taycan, only debuted last year and is already available in five flavors: standard, 4, 4S, GTS, and Turbo flavors. The latest addition is on the sportier end of the spectrum and has the upgraded performance and steering to prove it.

The GTS, like the Turbo before it, comes with a dual-motor powertrain. It’s not as powerful as its older sibling, which makes up to 630 hp and 833 ft lbs of torque, but not one will feel let down by its maximum output of 563 hp and 704 ft lbs of torque. As with the Macan Electric’s other performance variant, drivers will need to trigger the temporary Launch Control mode if they want access to all the vehicle’s grunt. Unsurprisingly, the GTS promises to be fast, with Porsche claiming it can zoom from zero to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed, when equipped with summer tires, of 155 mph.

The GTS announcement is missing any info about the EV’s driving range, but the models that bookend it in the Macan Electric lineup, the 4S and Turbo, both received a range estimate of 288 miles from the EPA for the 2025 model year, so something in that same vicinity seems likely. The company did say that the new variant’s battery packed can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes when connected to a DC fast charger.

A potent dual motor powertrain isn’t all the GTS has to offer. The SUV features an electronically controlled limited-slip differential on the rear axle to better distribute power to the back wheels.  The model, which sits lower than any other Macan Electric, also comes standard with an active air suspension with a model-specific tune and the company’s Sport Chrono package, which, like the Taycan, includes a track mode with battery-cooling to reduce power loss when the EV is pushed to its limits. Rounding things out is the new Sport Design package, which includes more black trim, side skirts, and a revised rear diffuser, and three additional exterior color options: Carmine Red, Chalk, and Lugano Blue.

The new Macan GTS Electric will launch as part of Porsche’s upcoming 2026 model year lineup. The fifth version of the electric SUV will start at $103,500, before fees, which is $15,500 more than the 4S and $6,000 less than the Turbo.
