Sanlorenzo Unveils ‘Perla Lunar,’ the First Hull of Its 58Steel Line

Sanlorenzo today announced its new 58Steel with the delivery of the first hull, Perla Lunar. The new vessel also marks the 15th anniversary of the Italian brand’s steel-yacht program. The Italian builder calls the new 190-footer an “evolution.” But it’s more like an elaborate reset.

Designed by Zuccon International Project, the 58Steel has a new platform with the wider 35.4-foot beam and Sanlorenzo’s first diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system in the steel line. The combination creates greater interior volume—comparable to a 210-foot yacht—with quieter, lower-impact operation. “The 58Steel embodies the belief of a superyacht that redefines proportion, privacy and performance,” said Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo’s Executive Chairman in a statement. “It represents our ambition to remain the benchmark in yachts up to 2,000 GT.”

The added volume is used strategically. Two full-beam VIP suites sit on the lower deck, joined by a larger “Supreme VIP” on the main deck. The upper deck serves as a private owner’s zone, with a forward-facing suite, office, dressing area, and a lounge that converts to a cinema. It also features an exterior pool.

At the stern, the beach club opens on three sides, creating an open waterside lounge with a bar, hammam, gym, and salon.

The propulsion system marks a significant change. Five 425 kW generators feed a 1 MWh battery pack, supporting a modular diesel-electric arrangement. It allows up to two hours of silent cruising and up to eight hours of zero-emissions hotel load at anchor. Sanlorenzo says the new layout shrinks the engine room and creates an additional 430 square feet for guest use.

Perla Lunar has a contemporary interior with no big surprises: dark woods, Calacatta Borghini marble, mother-of-pearl details, and champagne-finished accents. The main-deck lounge flows directly onto an infinity pool, and the owner’s deck uses floor-to-ceiling glass to blur the horizon line.

Outside, the 58Steel retains the crisp look that has defined the steel series since 2010. The extended bridge deck and sculpted surfaces give it a stronger stance without losing the brand’s trademark look. It also adds a fresh design to the strong, growing segment from 180 to 200 feet.
