Ineos wants to make sure that there is a Grenadier for every kind of outdoors lover.
The British automaker has just unveiled a variant of its adventure-ready 4×4 that has been designed specifically for safaris. Dubbed the Game Viewer, the new model features a fold-down windscreen and other custom modifications to ensure its driver and passengers have an unobstructed view of everything nature has to offer.
The latest version of Ineos’ off-roader made its debut at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The annual automotive gathering is normally a showcase for outrageously fast sports and supercars, but there was apparently enough interest in the company’s latest Land Rover Defender-inspired build to convince it that the vehicle should go into production.

The new 4×4 will be a joint production between Ineos and conversion specialist Kavango, according to Top Gear. The automaker will ship partially built Grenadiers—shorn of their tailgates, seating, and all but the most necessary of electrical equipment—from its French factory to Botswana, where the shop is based. Kavango will then work directly with the customer to build the safari-spec 4×4 of their dreams.
The modified Grenadier that convinced Ineos to build the initial Game Viewer concept in the first place featured a foldable windscreen, a roll-up canvas top, tiered seating, and a raised ride height. We imagine many future Game Viewers will feature at least some of these options, but customization is one of the model’s main selling points. Ineos says customers will be able to customize aspects like the overall vehicle layout, the number of seats (anywhere from four to nine), to the material of the roof. They will also be able to choose between a long- or extra-long wheelbase.
No mention was made of the Game Viewer’s powertrain, but the standard Grenadier is available either a gas- or diesel-powered BMW-sourced 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six (only the former is available in the U.S.). The mill makes up to 282 hp and 332 ft lbs fo torque, and its likely that output for the new variant will be the same or very similar.
