Hulk Hogan’s Beachfront House in Florida Lists for $11 Million

A little more than six months after Hulk Hogan (born Terry Gene Bollea) died at age 71, a Florida mansion where the legendary wrestler spent his final days has popped up for sale. The asking price is a smidge under $11 million, with his longtime friend, Martha Thorn of the Thorn Collection at Coldwell Banker Realty, holding the listing.

Hogan and his second of three wives, Jennifer, paid $1.3 million in 2012 for the Gulf-front property in the Mandalay subdivision on the far north end of the Clearwater Beach barrier island, near the Carlouel Yacht Club and the exclusive gated Mandalay Point residential enclave. An adjacent cottage the couple later acquired for $1.6 million is currently not on the market.

Completed in 2009 and set on one of two palm-laced parcels that span around a third of an acre combined, the stucco and flat terracotta-roof structure offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a powder room in roughly 5,400 square feet across three levels. Refined interiors boast a mix of teak, marble, and natural stone floors, while amenities include an elevator, an office, and a wine cellar, plus 1,500 square feet of covered outdoor space and a heated pool and spa.

Standing out is a living room sporting an ornate fireplace flanked by built-in shelving and sliding glass doors spilling out to a terrace, as well as a formal dining room topped by a multi-tiered chandelier and a kitchen with cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, a curved eat-in island, a Wolf range, and a windowed breakfast nook. A 1,000-square-foot primary suite is decked out with a sitting area, a private balcony, a morning bar, and a bath flaunting dual vanities, a freestanding oval soaking tub, and a walk-in shower.

Georgia-born Hogan attended the University of South Florida, but dropped out to pursue a music career and then turned to pro wrestling in the 1970s. Per The New York Times, he adopted the name Hulk because of comparisons with the muscular comic book character on the CBS TV program, The Incredible Hulk. He is, of course, famous for his long bleached-blond hair, horseshoe mustache, bandanas, and self-proclaimed “24-inch pythons,” or massive biceps. After making it to the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment), he assumed the alliterative last name Hogan.

During his career, the two-time Hall of Fame inductee spawned the fan craze known as Hulkamania and held the WWF title belt six times. He also appeared in movies, including Rocky III, and the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best in 2005 alongside his first wife, Linda, and his children, Brooke and Nick. In later years, his image was somewhat tarnished by controversy, particularly when an audio recording that revealed him using racial slurs was leaked by Gawker Media. He went on to sue the blogging and news company, which was found liable and later declared bankruptcy.
