Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams at the 2026 Golden Globes

And here we thought the competition was just on-screen.

At the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday night, the flashbulbs lit up for the arrivals of actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, co-stars of the hit hockey romance Heated Rivalry, which has dominated all corners of culture since it began airing late last year.

The show, which follows two closeted professional hockey players, Shane Hollander (Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Storrie), has set social media, the late shows, and all manner of media alight. That trend continued on the red carpet, when the co-stars showed up in opposing high jewelry statements.

Williams showed up first, his white Giorgio Armani tuxedo accented by a glint of shining diamonds at the neck. Upon closer inspection, this turned out to be one of Bulgari’s gem-set Serpenti necklaces, a style long beloved for its sinuous curves and interesting play on the ouroborus imagery.

Hot on his heels was Storrie, wearing a slightly more conservative black suit and tie. On his lapel was one of Tiffany & Co.’s highly coveted Bird on a Rock brooches. The style, penned by legendary jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger in the 1960s, has grown from a society matron’s must-have to an intelligent gentleman’s accessory. Jeremy Allen White wore a version to last year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2023, Michael B. Jordan famously wore two to the Academy Awards.

It’s also perhaps an allusion to one of Rozanov’s lines from the show and the book that inspired it. In one scene, when Rozanov is startled by the call of a loon, he refers to it as a “stupid Canadian wolf bird.” (Though we’d be willing to wager the Tiffany team would balk at the comparison.)

In any case, both choices speak to how far each of these young actors has risen, and how quickly. Before the show premiered and began to take over the cultural conversation, Williams and Storrie both worked as waiters while auditioning; Heated Rivalry has turned out to be a break bigger than either one of them anticipated.

Which means that next year, the jewels are likely to be even bigger.
