Mercedes-Maybach’s floating members’ club is one step closer to hitting the seas.

The automaker just announced that Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven will build the gigayacht on which the new Maybach Ocean Club will be located. Christened Beyond Horizons, the 508-footer will give members a place to stay and play on the ocean, offering luxurious accommodation, world-class gastronomy, top-tier wellness facilities, and thrilling water activities.

“Today marks a defining moment for Maybach Ocean Club as we move from vision towards construction,” Captain Matthias Bosse, cofounder and managing director of Maybach Ocean Club, said in a statement. “Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven brings an extraordinary heritage of German engineering, precision, and discretion to this project.”

Developed in collaboration with yacht specialists Splendid Sea and German naval architects Dölker + Voges, the vessel combines the Maybach design DNA and craftsmanship with a superyacht-style layout. It will feature 30 identical residential-inspired suites, each measuring nearly 800 square feet and opening to a private balcony. Six additional guest cabins positioned forward will be reserved for members’ friends and family. It can accommodate up to 72 members and guests at any given time, giving it the feel of a superyacht rather than a cruise ship, Maybach says. 

The decor is directly inspired by the Maybach aesthetic, with elongated proportions, sculptural surfaces, and a palette featuring the marque’s signature rose-gold detailing. The nameplate’s famous signet sits proudly at the bow, too. 

The cascading decks, which are “layered like landscapes,” according to Maybach, afford 50,000 square feet of space and both intimate corners and expansive lounges with panoramic views. At the stern, the marina-style beach club features a giant split-level infinity pool and layered teak terraces that lead to the sea. A few more steps down lies a swim platform with direct access to the water and the onboard water toys. 

As for membership, Maybach has adopted a fractional ownership model. The 300 co-owners will each be entitled to four weeks on the yacht (including private suites) per year, gaining access to concierge services, cultural experiences, and, of course, many exclusive ports. Seasonal itineraries are expected to include the Mediterranean during summer and the Caribbean in winter.

“More than a vessel, the heart of the Maybach Ocean Club is the private circle of 300 individuals from around the world who will come together through shared experiences aboard the yacht, in the water and on curated excursions,” adds Bosse.

The yacht is scheduled for delivery in 2029, with the maiden voyage expected shortly after.
