Jessica Stam swapped New York for Hawaii during the pandemic. She relocated with her filmmaker husband, Brahman Turner, and their two children to a blissful 2.4-acre estate on the island of Maui, where the family has spent their days making meals with vegetables and fruit grown on their land and enjoying water activities in the nearby ocean. The iconic doll-face supermodel of the 2000s, known for her piercing blue eyes, has also continued to jet across the globe for fashion-related projects.
Stam, who was raised on a farm in Canada, told the New York Post in 2022 that moving to the Aloha State brought her back to her roots. “My dad was a farmer and my mom took care of the home,” she said. “I have six brothers, and she canned everything we couldn’t eat. Living part-time in Hawaii is a great balance from having to work in the city with the constant transatlantic travel I was used to for runway shows.”

As her work increasingly requires her to be elsewhere, Stam is once again relocating to be closer to those commitments and putting her private retreat on the western slope of Haleakalā in the secluded upcountry community of Kula on the market. The asking price is a dash under $5 million, with Christopher Barca of Compass holding the listing.
Completed in 1981 but recently updated, the five-bedroom, four-bath dwelling comes with white oak hardwood floors, wood-beam ceilings, wide arched doorways, and oversized picture windows overlooking bicoastal views stretching from Moloka’i to Lana’i. Highlights include a formal living room and a combined family room and dining area, which are part of a kitchen sporting a granite-topped island and high-end Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances.

A custom yurt on the property is the perfect spot to forget all your troubles.

Sliding glass doors spill out to a loggia ideal for alfresco lounging and dining. Elsewhere is a primary suite sporting a sitting area, a covered balcony, and a stone-clad bath with a built-in soaking tub and a walk-in shower. There’s also a separate suite with a gym, infrared sauna, kitchen, and a deck, plus lush green lawns dotted with 40 native fruit trees, meandering pathways, a 40-foot saltwater pool with a spillover spa, and a custom yurt.
After she was discovered at a local donut shop in her native Canada in 2001, per WWD, Stam went on to become the darling of photographers such as Steven Meisel and Steven Klein, appeared on multiple Vogue covers (Italian, British, and American), and starred in campaigns for every major fashion house, including Dior, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, and Giorgio Armani, among others.
In 2005, Marc Jacobs introduced the Stam bag, which became an instant classic, and in 2007, Forbes listed her as its 15th highest-paid model. Showing no signs of slowing down at 39, she recently appeared in fashion shows for Victoria’s Secret, Collina Strada, and Prabal Gurung.
