A $20.3 Million Chalet Compound in Gstaad Is Heading to Auction

With the ski season ended, it’s time to plan for next winter.

And, if you’re interested in a more permanent base in the Swiss Alps, one where you can host large groups of family and friends, a rare compound in the hills of Gstaad is hitting the auction block. The $20.3 million property consists of two separate ski-in/ski-out chalets in the wealthy region of Bernese Oberland. Bidding begins April 16 and closes April 30, with starting bids expected between $6.3 million and $12.7 million.

“Legacy properties in the Gstaad region—particularly those offering both scale and direct ski-in access—rarely come to market with this level of finish and optionality,” said Chad Roffers, the CEO and co-founder of Concierge Auctions, which is handling the sale alongside Monica Lospa at FGP Swiss & Alps. “With two fully independent chalets, resort-style amenities, and a premier alpine setting, this estate is exceptionally positioned to resonate with our global buyer base.”

The wooden structures stand out among the snowy hills and pine trees, beckoning with their five fireplaces and suite of wellness amenities. The seven-bedroom main chalet has its own indoor pool and sauna, while the three-bedroom secondary chalet doesn’t skimp on creature comforts either: Along with a sauna, it has a private spa with a hammam and hot tub. Of course, both homes have tons of storage for skis, boots, and additional gear and plenty of cozy spots for relaxing your muscles and heating up after a day on the slopes.

The main house has an elevator that connects all the levels, allowing easy access from the double-height living room to the billiards area on the mezzanine. On the lower level, next to the indoor pool, is a music room where you can jam with friends on the drums or keyboard. The second home, meanwhile, is equipped with a Eurocave wine cellar for storing an extensive bottle collection and a large garage.

When the weather cooperates, there are plenty of outdoor spaces ranging from landscaped gardens to mountain-view terraces for quiet moments or lively gatherings with friends and family. Gstaad isn’t just a winter wonderland, however, with many hiking and mountain biking trails, lake activities, and a championship golf course available at other times of the year.
