A Contemporary Home in Paradise Valley Lists for $10.8 Million

If you’re searching for your own personal paradise, it may well lie in Arizona’s aptly named Paradise Valley, where expansive desert vistas strike a balance between topographical drama and a sense of calm restraint.

This contemporary retreat in the luxe desert enclave just to the east of Phoenix, listed with Adrian Heyman at The Agency at $10.75 million, offers exactly that. Perched on Mummy Mountain, just to the east of Phoenix, the home’s elevated perch and floor-to-ceiling windows allow for sweeping views that encompass Pinnacle Peak, Four Peaks, the McDowells, and the Superstitions.

Rather than an open-plan layout that’s become commonplace in modern homes, the single-story abode flows through a series of discrete living spaces. A fireplace anchors the main living room, while additional lounges are sprinkled throughout the 6,600-square-foot home, and gleaming granite countertops line the eat-in kitchen, which comes with all the necessary accouterments and plenty of space to whip up gourmet meals. And, in this era of remote work, a home office is now a necessity; this one opens to the outdoors for taking a fresh-air break.

The main house’s four bedrooms include a tranquil primary suite, where a fireplace sits opposite the bed. The bathroom is finished in white marble, with a soaking tub positioned to take in a garden view. Guests, meanwhile, can retreat to the detached casita, with direct access to the pool and a grassy lawn. Across both structures, there are four bathrooms and two powder rooms in total.

Thanks to its agreeable climate and relatively low taxes, Paradise Valley has become a hot spot for affluent buyers. Homes priced above $10 million are increasingly the norm rather than the exception, with roughly a quarter of current listings exceeding that threshold. The priciest sale on record in the desert enclave reached $33.5 million, and earlier this year, a newly built mansion complete with a dedicated spa wing traded for $12 million.
