This striking 230-footer wants to be a sculptural beauty on the seas.
The European shipyard ISA Yachts just unveiled the details of its new superyacht concept, called Blade. The stunner is kicking off the brand’s collaboration with Barcelona-based Lobanov Design, known for whipping up curvy silhouettes across its creations.
That can certainly be seen on display on Blade, which draws design cues from vessels that took on the seas between late 19th and early 20th centuries with a modern twist. Here, you’ll see smooth, interrupted lines from bow to stern; the bow, in fact, is concave in its stainless-steel design, creating a clean flow across the superyacht. The aluminum superstructure, meanwhile, is made up of glass panels and black-painted surfaces, adding a nice contract to Blade’s bold white hue. Plus, the curves shown here are meant to evoke both movement and speed, a nod to the grand-sport superyacht category.

An overview of the Blade concept.

Elsewhere onboard, an aft garage and beach club door can quickly transform into a wooden bench perched over the water when it’s closed. On the upper deck, the owner’s suite is home to its own private terrace, complete with a Jacuzzi gives you a prime lookout spot of the sea beyond. There’s plenty of space for guests to lounge about, too, on a sprawling aft sunpad. Teak inserts and custom fender details can also be found throughout the design.
In terms of grunt, Blade is powered by a pair of MTU 12V4000 M53L engines, giving it enough power to hit a top speed of 17.5 knots. Its cruising speed, meanwhile, sits at 14 knots, at which the vessel has a range of around 5,000 nautical miles.
“ISA Blade 70 meters represents a new interpretation of the ISA Yachts DNA and a project of significant strategic value,” Giuseppe Palumbo, director of ISA parent company Palumbo Superyachts, said in a press statement. “The collaboration with Lobanov Design is rooted in a shared vision of strong design, identity and innovation. This yacht is just the first step: together with the studio, we are already developing a larger superyacht.”
As for when Blade’s sistership will be revealed, we’ll just have to wait and see.
