Lürssen Just Launched the Fully Custom 257-Foot Superyacht ‘Odisea’

Lürssen has delivered more than 20 superyachts measuring less than 262 feet since the start of the millennium, but its newest launch has a distinct design pedigree.

Christened Odisea, the fully custom 257-footer is the first Lürssen to be penned in partnership with RWD. The award-winning British firm executed interiors and exteriors, combining elegant aesthetics with the German yard’s renowned craftsmanship.

“Every yacht we build asks something new of us,” CEO Peter Lürssen said in a statement. “Working with RWD on Odisea allowed us to push new boundaries in both engineering and arrangement. The result is a yacht designed entirely around modern life at sea.”

Built under the project name “Ace 21,” Odisea took roughly four years to come to fruition, with construction work commencing in 2022. The five-deck vessel features a sharp vertical bow, a steel displacement hull, and a lightweight aluminum superstructure. Clean lines create a simple yet sophisticated profile, while expansive glazing removes traditional boundaries to maximize views and natural light.

With a volume of 2,397 GT, Odisea offers a spacious interior that the yard describes as “bright” and “welcoming.” The palette combines natural tones, soft woods, and pale marble, creating an understated yet warm feel throughout. That quiet luxury is juxtaposed with curated artworks that add much-needed depth and vibrancy.

With a focus on family-oriented living, Odisea is outfitted with entertaining, lounging, and relaxation spaces both inside and out. One of her most distinguishing features is her “beach house.” Located on the main deck, the glass-encased lounge is fitted with huge sliding doors on three sides that open to an exterior deck with a teak-lined pool. It was engineered and built in-house, underscoring Lürssen’s ability to realize large and complex glass structures.

Other highlights include a foredeck sports court for basketball, pickleball, yoga, or pilates, a sundeck with a Jacuzzi, bar, fire pit, and dining area, a wellness retreat, a dedicated watersports area with diving and fishing facilities, and not one but two outdoor cinemas.

Those onboard comforts are paired with true go-anywhere capability. Odisea is reportedly equipped with a twin-diesel propulsion system and a compact exhaust with a patented SCR system that significantly reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions. Lürssen did not share any details regarding speed or range.

Odisea departed Germany on Friday, March 13, for her maiden voyage.
