Bigger isn’t always better. Just ask VisionF Yachts.
The Turkish yard just unveiled a 62-foot hybrid catamaran that is the very definition of small but mighty. The new 65 Hybrid is positioned as an accessible, entry-level model for owners seeking comfort, efficiency, and green technology.
VisionF has built a reputation for delivering high-quality power cats and electric multihulls measuring over 80 feet, but is strategically expanding into the 60-foot segment with the latest model. The 65 Hybrid is the smallest cat in the yard’s five-strong lineup, but still has that classic VisionF feel. It carries the same design DNA as the larger models, with a strong, muscular exterior that is replete with clean, simple lines. The yard says it is more balanced and proportionally nuanced than the bigger boats, though. It is also built in GRP composite, whereas the larger models are crafted in aluminum.
With a beam of 30 feet, the cat has quite a substantial footprint but a light displacement of roughly 66 tons. That means it is more efficient than heavier or larger competitors. The surprisingly spacious living quarters comprise a large salon, four cabins for up to eight guests, and crew quarters for up to four crew. Expansive glazing throughout connects the interior with the exterior and ensures all within is bathed in natural light.

The salon.

The real selling point, however, is the green tech. The 65 Hybrid is equipped with two 450 hp Volvo Penta engines and an electric power system comprising two batteries with capacities of 101 kWh and 23 kWh, respectively. In addition, the 62-footer is fitted with 42 rooftop solar panels that generate additional emissions-free energy to power the onboard systems silently at anchor.
Another bonus is that the 65 Hybrid is a semi-custom cat, meaning you can tailor the layout, tweak the interior finishes, and even switch up the tech. The first hull is serving as a demonstration model, allowing seafarers to see a fully realized unit on the water before buying their own. VisionF plans to launch the inaugural hull within the coming month, with sea trials to follow shortly after. Delivery to the owner is scheduled for later this spring. The yard has also confirmed that another hull has already been sold, with construction currently underway.
