A Malibu Home With a Koi Pond Lists for $16.9 Million

The Los Angeles-based firm Standard Architecture is sought out for its modern designs spanning residential to retail spaces that allow contemporary architecture and idyllic settings to coexist harmoniously. Actor Jason Statham’s Sunset Plaza digs by the company is one example, as is designer Jenni Kayne’s Beverly Hills mansion. Fans of the outfitter can now shack up in a Point Dume residence they designed to blend seamlessly with its one-acre parcel that backs up to open space.

Set at the end of a double-gated driveway, the captivating property measures 6,430 square feet between the main residence and a separate guest house. An infinity-edge plunge pool and spa are highlighted by panoramic mountain and landscape vantages, and the entrance’s koi pond and Japanese garden are additional distinguishing elements of the $16.89 million abode now available with Chris Cortazzo of Compass.

The property was first listed for sale at $21.5 million at the top of last year before being removed and relisted with price cuts in both July 2025 and January 2026, property records show. Even with a current asking price $4.61 million below the original, the home’s appeal remains undiminished, from the rich natural materials that define the main living and dining spaces to its six spacious bedrooms and seven elegantly appointed bathrooms.

Beyond the eight-foot-wide oak doors, the formal living room, dining room, and kitchen span an open blueprint and showcase many of the residence’s key features: soaring oak-paneled ceilings, teak sliding doors, and concrete finishes. Walnut kitchen cabinetry and built-in shelves with backlighting in the family room are additional highlights of the airy interiors.

The owner’s suite features one of the home’s three fireplaces, while the attached bath houses a freestanding bathtub set before glass pocket doors that open to the Japanese garden. Three other en suite bedrooms are located on the main level, while another is tucked down on the lower floor. Elsewhere are an office, a wine cellar, and a bonus room with a sauna, while the rear courtyard allows residents to spread out along the infinity pool and spa while taking in serene mountain views.

One final perk of the residence is its access to Little Dume Beach via Riviera II, one of three exclusive beach easements in the Point Dume enclave. A separate trail, according to press materials, runs alongside a stream that flows year-round toward the beach’s sandy shores. Surf’s up.
