A new high-end hotel is settling in on the shores of Lake Como.

Hospitality group Radisson just opened Palazzo San Gottardo, which is housed within a historic palazzo that first made its debut back in 1926, as a part of its luxe lifestyle collection. Now, the spot has undergone a careful restoration of its facades just steps from Como’s city center.

That refresh has preserved all the early-20^th-century splendor of the area, which means plenty of stone cornices, geometric touches, and more. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by clean lines, bespoke furnishings, and Italian craftsmanship that continues the blend of old and new. The suites are bright and light, too, with even more geometric touches abound and views of the Como streets—and several suites come with their own living rooms and balconies, too.

Palazzo San Gottardo also offers up a luxe spa that takes inspiration from natural springs. That means you can experience an indoor water relaxation area, as well as another relaxation lounge, more personalized treatments, and a fitness studio. The hotel is also serving up a fine trio of restaurants: Radiante, a contemporary Italian spots with dishes like mackerel with smoked provola and ditali pasta with mantis shrimp and salted lemon; Lumi, a rooftop bar and restaurant focused on light bites, cocktails, and a curated wine list; and Caffè Lariano, a zero-waste eatery focused on seasonal bites with an in-house pastry lab.

And the new property makes it all too easy to explore the famed Lake Como from its prime perch between Piazza Cavour and Piazza Volta. You can opt to explore the Duomo di Como, or perhaps you’d like to jump aboard a boat to head to lesser-known villages like Torno and Moltrasio. As for Lake Como itself, you can explore its waters via a private tour from navigation company Tasell, which has its own dock mere minutes from the hotel.
