This opulent Bahamas estate truly lives up to the evocative name of its surrounding neighborhood—Xanadu.
The idyllic beachfront spread sprawls across more than 15,000 square feet within the uber-luxe Old Fort Bay enclave, where Latin pop superstar and crossover country queen Shania Twain once owned homes. Dubbed Blue Palms, the chic villa sports an aquamarine waterfall fountain out front and an ocean-facing infinity pool out back. While the pristine white-sand beach beckons just beyond, the $56 million home’s clean-lined and comfortably plush living spaces are just as difficult to resist.

The primary bedroom sports a Loro Piana–upholstered bed and a blue marble fireplace.

From the moment you pass through the pared-down neoclassical mansion’s 19th-century front doors, you know you’ve entered a rarefied retreat. A Larose Guyon chandelier hangs over the black-and-white tiled floor, and the grand staircase sports a chic recessed brass banister. Just beyond is the great room, where coffered ceilings rise to 12 feet and dual marble fireplaces anchor opposite ends of the space.

To one side, you’ll find the open kitchen, where herringbone oak floors and Art Deco brass details warm up the room. A full formal dining room sits nearby, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the ocean in the distance. On the other side of the great room is a lounge swathed in hand-painted gold-leaf de Gournay wallpaper and featuring a pink onyx bar. Two of the home’s six bedrooms are on the ground floor. In all, there are seven bathrooms, plus five more powder rooms outfitted with Baccarat sconces.

The gym and spa complex includes a full fitness center, a 15-person sauna, and a salon.

An elevator clad in blue marble whisks you upstairs, where the primary suite takes up a private wing. White silk carpets the bedroom, a plush space with a blue marble fireplace sitting across from the bed. The bed, of course, is no ordinary piece of furniture—it’s custom-upholstered in Loro Piana cashmere. The primary bath is massive with an infrared sauna, and the closet is decked out with cornflower-blue accents. Another two guest bedrooms are situated on the upper floor, with all three spilling out to a travertine terrace with frameless glass railings.
Along with rest and relaxation, health and wellness are prioritized via a separate gym and spa complex. A fitness center and yoga pavilion lead to a subterranean retreat complete with a 15-person steam sauna, a cold plunge room, and a hair and nail salon. Once you’re all primped and pampered, you can bask in the island breeze by the pool or simply hang out with your friends and family on the covered patio that includes plenty of lounge space and an outdoor kitchen. Nick Damianos at Lyford Cay Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
