HGTV Star Leanne Ford’s Minimalist L.A. House Lists for $4.5 Million

If you’re a fan of HGTV’s Restored by the Fords and Home Again With the Fords, then this contemporary pad in Los Angeles is sure to grab your attention. Owned by Leanne Ford, one-half of the design duo behind both shows, the abode is now on the market in the seaside community of Venice, replete with her signature white-on-white palette and modern, lived-in style.

The Pittsburgh native, who transforms cookie-cutter houses into custom dream homes alongside her brother, Steve, is asking a tad under $4.5 million for the 1980s residence that she and husband Erik Allen Ford, cofounder and CEO of the menswear brand Buck Mason, purchased less than a year ago for $4.4 million and subsequently reimagined. Diana Braun of Compass holds the listing.

Tucked away on a compact parcel spanning less than a quarter of an acre in the historic Oakwood neighborhood, just minutes from bustling Abbot Kinney Boulevard and picturesque canals, the concrete-hued structure features three bedrooms and a trio of baths in roughly 1,900 square feet across two levels boasting wide-plank engineered white oak floors and 14-foot ceilings dotted with skylights.

A custom oak front door pivots into a staircase-clad entry foyer topped with a Noguchi lantern, while a spacious living room has sliding glass doors spilling out to a bamboo-lined courtyard with a quartzite-tiled plunge pool and spa. An adjacent eat-in kitchen is outfitted with rustic Bulthaup cabinetry, Neolith countertops, Dornbracht fixtures, a built-in shelving unit, and Gaggenau appliances.

The inviting primary suite flaunts a private balcony with a soaking tub, a walk-in closet, and a marble bath. Two additional bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bath, while a detached 1,200-square-foot guesthouse—currently set up as an artist and yoga studio—offers a great room, kitchenette, and powder room, plus an en suite bedroom upstairs. There’s also an attached two-car garage and additional parking for up to four vehicles.

The couple, who are based in Pittsburgh, had relocated to Venice after their West Coast outpost in the Rustic Canyon neighborhood of L.A. was destroyed by last year’s Palisades fire. They also maintain a permanent residence in the affluent Allegheny County borough of Sewickley that was designed in the 1900s by architect Charles Barton Keen.
