A slew of holiday shoppers helped Richemont enter 2026 with a bang.
Cartier’s parent company saw its sales jump 11 percent in Q3 to about $7.43 billion (€6.4 billion), a new record for the luxe conglomerate, according to a brand report announced today. That figure, bolstered by customers splashed down cash for gifts during the most wonderful time of the year, toppled the 7.5 percent analysts estimated the company would reach, a strong showing even amid Swiss tariff woes and a struggling luxury market, Bloomberg reported.
Hong Kong was a large driver of increased sales for Richemont in Q3, where there was rising demand for the company’s goods. The U.S., too, had a strong consumer turnout, increasing sales over the period by a cool 14 percent. Elsewhere, Japan saw a jump of 17 percent, while the Middle East & Africa had an increase of 20 percent during the holiday season.
The brand’s jewelry houses were standouts over the time period, seeing a 14 percent increase in sales in the fiscal quarter. Richemont’s watch brands, too, snagged a 7 percent boost in Q3; the company is home to names such as Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, and more. That figure, in particular, is impressive, given that the U.S. has placed Swiss exports with a 15 percent tariff (down from a whopping 39 percent earlier in 2025), not to mention gold’s sky-high prices. Given the help from luxury shoppers, we may see these struggles take a stronger hold on Richemont’s figures in the next quarter, who have already said high material prices and currency and the impact of currency changes may impact growth.
Another piece of the puzzle that may be helping drive customers to Richemont’s stores is its celebrity ties, according to Bloomberg. Cartier, for one, counts actors Jacob Elordi and Timothée Chalamet as friends of the house, a.k.a. ambassadors. The former hopped on the Cartier train this past October and has since rocked a Prive Tank Normale with a skeletonized platinum case set with diamonds at the 2026 Golden Globes. As for the latter, he has worked with the brand since 2021; lately, Chalamet has donned a Panthère de Cartier pendant necklace on the Golden Globes red carpet. Even Taylor Swift rocked a Santos Demoiselle when she got engaged to Travis Kelce last year. And with award show season just beginning, we’ll certainly see more A-listers donning striking pieces from Richemont brands yet.
