Brabus Gives the Bentley Continental a Massive Power Boost

Brabus is ready to expand its reach.

The German tuner, best known for taking Mercedes-Benz models like the G-Wagen to absurd new heights, has just added Bentley to its portfolio. And to get things started, the shop has unveiled two new builds based on the fourth-generation Continental, both of which give the hybrid grand tourer a significant power boost.

The latest additions to Brabus’s lineup of self-proclaimed supercars are the 900 Superblack and 900, which are based on the Continental GT Speed coupe and Continental GTC Speed convertible, respectively. The high-performance variants are both powered by the hybrid 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that the British automaker unveiled last year as a replacement for its old V-12.

Brabus hasn’t messed with the electric motor at all, but it has upgraded the mill with bespoke turbochargers, a new carbon-fiber airbox, and reprogrammed ECU mapping. These modifications increase total output to 888 hp and 811 ft lbs of torque, a decent jump from the 771 hp and 738 ft lbs of torque produced by the factory versions of the Speed variant. Both models are also equipped with a new exhaust system and have had their ride height dropped by close to an inch. Thanks to all the changes, Brabus says the coupe can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 208 mph, while the convertible can do the same in 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 177 mph.

Because this is Brabus we’re talking about, both cars have also been treated to a makeover that carbon-fiber aero kit and 22-inch forged Monoblock ZM Platinum Edition wheels. These two changes alter the character of the exterior quite a bit, bringing out the sporty nature of the coupe and convertible like never before. The shop has removed Bentley’s usual understated badging and replaced it with its decidedly louder logo and logo fonts. The 900 Superblack, as its name may have hinted, is almost exclusively in black, while the 900 is available in other hues.
