Explora Journeys Announces a New 10-Night Caribbean Cruise for Winter

Trading the dead of winter for some sun-soaked island-hopping sounds like a very, very good idea. It is one that Explora Journeys can help you execute as well.

The luxury cruise line, helmed by the MSC Group, just announced plans for a new 10-night Caribbean adventure early next year. Taking place from January 25 to February 4, 2026, the aptly named Journey of Caribbean Calm and Bahamian Blue includes stops in picturesque—and, perhaps more importantly, sun-plenty—destinations such as Puerto Plata, Kralendijk, Oranjestad, Willemstad, and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

Travelers will have the opportunity to walk rich, creamy-white beaches, kayak crystal-clear waters, and snorkel above pristine coral reefs teeming with marine life. Exploration is just one aspect of the trip, though. Explora has teamed up with South African-born Swiss explorer Mike Horn to create hands-on conservation experiences to increase your knowledge of marine preservation.

Horn—who holds records for extraordinary feats, like reaching the North Pole during the Arctic winter and journeying around the equator without motorised transport—will join guests in Oranjestad on January 30, carrying out five nights of intimate “Ocean Dialogues” sessions at sea to show the connections between adventure and ocean stewardship. The sessions will continue in the  Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island sanctuary in the Bahamas, where guests will learn about coral restoration and marine protection, before sailing the turquoise waters with Horn to see the importance of protecting the delicate underwater ecosystems.

“Discovery is at the heart of what we do, creating experiences that inspire curiosity and enhance guests’ engagement throughout their Journey,” Explora Journeys president said in a statement. “Partnering with Mike Horn and the MSC Foundation allows us to offer guests extraordinary adventures alongside a deeper understanding of the ocean’s beauty, power, and vulnerability.”

Then, there’s the liner itself. The 814-foot Explorer II features 461 oceanfront suites, penthouses, and residences, which are designed to feel like “homes at sea” with floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces, and spacious interiors.

The vessel also offers up six restaurants—plus in-suite dining and a chef’s kitchen—twelve bars and lounges, five heated swimming pools, 64 private cabanas on the expansive exterior decks, and boutiques by the likes of Rolex. You can also expect “intuitive service and relaxed luxury,” according to Explora.

Sure beats a snowstorm.

The round-trip Journey of Caribbean Calm & Bahamian Blue starts and ends in Miami. Rates start at $5,980 per adult.
