What Wolfgang Puck Will Serve A-Listers at the 2026 Oscars Afterparty

Another year, another Wolfgang Puck feast for Academy Awards attendees.

The celebrity chef and his team are catering the official Oscars afterparty for the 32nd time, with plans to serve up more than 70 dishes to 1,500 A-listers at Sunday’s Governors Ball.

Puck has curated a menu that spotlights cuisines from around the world and covers both the classic and quirky. “Comfort food is always the people’s favorite food, like our chicken pot pie, smoked salmon pizza, our macaroni and cheese, or the mini Wagyu burgers,” Puck said at a preview event at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in L.A. on Tuesday.

The chef has crafted a few more whimsical experiences for celebs, too. There will be an Italian gelato machine whipping up fresh ice cream, a station spraying 24-karat gold onto miniature chocolate Oscars, and a live izakaya doling out traditional Japanese bites, as reported by Reuters. There will be an underlying simplicity to all plates, though.

“It’s all about the quality of the ingredients and the quality of the dishes,” Puck said. “We have to cook for 1,500 people. We keep it simple. We don’t need 10 sauces with it.”

Amassing such a banquet is no easy feat. Puck will be working with a huge team that includes 75 savory chefs, 45 pastry chefs, and 325 front-of-house staff and managers. Puck expects the kitchen to churn out some 600 homemade pizzas, 3,000 artichoke agnolotti, and 2,000 mini chocolate Oscars, among tens of thousands of individual servings.

To give you an idea of the sheer scale of his operation, Puck estimates the kitchen will go through about 200 pounds of dry-aged ribeye, 300 pounds of house-smoked salmon, 30 pounds of Kaluga caviar, 500 pounds of wild mushrooms, 200 pounds of Nishiki rice, and 400 pounds of cheeses. In addition, roughly two gallons of 24-karat liquid gold will be used to cover those aforementioned chocolate Oscars.

Puck’s food isn’t the only thing the stars will be enjoying on Hollywood’s biggest night, of course. The top acting and directing nominees will receive about $350,000 worth of luxury products and experiences curated by marketer Lash Fary of ‌Distinctive Assets, according to Reuters. The gift bag—which is actually a small suitcase—includes everything from extravagant vacations to home renovations to tasty snacks.
