This $15 Million Villa in Ibiza Has a Pool With a Waterfall

Ibiza may be best known as a hopping party spot that attracts the world’s glitterati, but there are plenty of quiet retreats sprinkled across the rocky Mediterranean island, as well.

And, when you need to get away from all the DJs and dancing, Villa Roca could be just the ticket. The eight-bedroom estate sits high on Truntoi Mountain among pine forests overlooking the scenic, laid-back town of San José down below. Taking advantage of the region’s sublime weather, it includes almost as much space to relax outside as inside, with several quiet alfresco lounges and a sparkling infinity pool that measures in at more than 100 feet long.

The pool is probably where you’ll spend most of your time, whether lounging under the floating cabana or hiding out in the grotto behind a waterfall entrance. On the hottest days, a misting system keeps you cool, but if you prefer warm temps, there are two hot tubs, plus a 12-person spa on the rooftop terrace. Up here, you’ll also find a grill area, a Bedouin-style tent, and, for when you do want a party but don’t want the crowds, a sky lounge with a dance floor. Additional outdoor highlights include an infrared sauna and a full gym.

The contemporary villa’s minimalistic style allows you to put your stamp on the property. There are separate living and dining areas, a functional kitchen done up with stainless-steel countertops, and a narrow bar looking out on the rocky landscape.

Each of the eight bedrooms has a private bathroom, giving guests total privacy. They’re also equipped with air conditioning, sound systems, and mini bars, almost like individual hotel suites. Offered on the market for the first time ever, Villa Roca also comes with a coveted tourist license, which lets you rent out the estate if you so choose. The $15 million property is listed with Spain Sotheby’s International Realty.

The real estate market in Ibiza is overwhelmingly fueled by international demand, with foreign buyers accounting for roughly 85 percent of home purchases in the island’s most coveted enclaves. While long dominated by purchasers from Germany, the United Kingdom, and across Northern Europe, a growing number of Americans have begun staking their claim.
