BMW is sending off the Alpina XB7 in style.

The German marque announced during Amelia Island Concours week that it will say goodbye to its most luxurious SUV with a special model exclusive to the U.S. and Canada. The 2026 XB7 Manufaktur, which will be limited to just 120 examples, represents the ultimate expression of the full-size model and features more tailored details than ever before, while still delivering the dynamic driving experience enthusiasts expect from a vehicle bearing the high-performance tuner’s name.

The Alpina XB7 debuted in 2020, two years into the X7’s lifecycle, and offered a hint of what was to come for the famed BMW tuner. The range-topping SUV has been produced since launch at the automaker’s plant in Spartanburg, S.C., making it the first Alpina model built away from its workshop in Buchloe, one hour west of BMW’s Munich headquarters. Two years after its debut, in early 2022, the marque announced that it had acquired the tuner. BMW took over full control of Alpina earlier this year, and immediately announced plans to spin the tuner off as its own standalone brand focused on range-topping models that offer maximum performance and an “exclusive portfolio of bespoke options.”

But, before that, comes the XB7 Manufaktur, which can be viewed as the last of the old Alpinas. The special model looks nearly identical to the standard 2026 XB7 at a glance, but it’s only available in two finishes, both of which are brand new: Frozen Alpina Green and Frozen Alpina Blue. All of the vehicle’s trim, including the grille, window surrounds, and rear tailpipe, is covered in Shadowline high-gloss black, as are the 23-inch versions of the tuner’s trademark forged 20-spoke wheels. Rounding things is the requisite model-specific badging, including Alpina’s classic deco-set applique running the length of the rear in black and a laser etched “Manufaktur” wordmark on each B-pillar.

Regardless of the exterior hue, the interior comes clad in Tartufo full Merino leather trimmed in Alpina Walnut Nature Black and black floor mats. The headrest of each front seat features the traditional Alpina script embroidered in blue and green and the forward console lid is adorned with a silver plaque identifying the model and its status as “1 of 120.” There is also second-row captain’s chairs, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamong surround sound system, and a matching set of two handmade Alpina weekender bags made from brown Lavalina leather.

At the heart of the SUV is a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8. The mill, which is based on BMW’s S58 engine, is paired with an eight-speed Alpina Switch-Tronic transmission, an integrated 48-volt starter generator, and makes 631 hp and 590 ft lbs of torque. Thanks to all this muscle, it can effortlessly sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. Other mechanical features include two-axle air suspension with Alpina-specific damper and kinematic tuning, along with electromechanical anti-roll bars and stiffer rear axle bushings.

The Alpina XB7 Manufaktur can be yours for $180,000, plus $1,550 in destination and handling fees. That’s not just the starting price, either, as the model will be available in a single fully equipped spec with the only option being the exterior. Production of the exclusive SUV will commence in September, with deliveries set for the final quarter of the year.
