When Moroccan-born designer and painter Nadia Karam and her husband snapped up a Miami mansion in 2015, they did so in part because the Mediterranean Revival estate felt like it might just be in Marrakesh. A decade ago, they plopped down $5.1 million for the 12,500-square-foot abode. Now, following a $1 million renovation that opened up the living spaces, they’re listing the property for $25 million with Valerie Harvey at Coldwell Banker Realty.
Located in Miami’s ritzy Ponce-Davis neighborhood, the residence lies behind gates that open to a striking mosaic-tiled motor court. A curving staircase anchors the foyer, which is surrounded by distinct seating areas, while a golden backlit onyx fireplace is the focal point of the formal living room, where a Baccarat chandelier hangs from the ceiling. Meanwhile, arched doorways framed in black provide a contrast to the jewel tones that decorate the more casual family room and den.

The neutral-toned chef’s kitchen draws a throughline with the living room via another golden backlit backsplash surrounding the stovetop. Outside, the covered summer kitchen offers even more cooking space, where you can whip up meals to enjoy in the central courtyard’s casual lounge spaces and a dining area that looks out on the heated pool and spa, done up in calming blue mosaic tiling.
Back inside, an elevator whisks up to the second level. Here, the massive primary suite has a sitting area/office and a balcony that overlooks the grounds. In total, the residence spans eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. There’s also a private guest house that Karam has used over the years as an art studio. A four-car garage and a tennis wall complete the offerings.

Upstairs, the primary suite includes a separate sitting area and a balcony overlooking the grounds.

Ponce-Davis, not far from Coral Gables and full of lush, tropical mansions in a coastal setting, has become one of Miami’s most coveted neighborhoods. Earlier this year, a $12 million estate inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and built by the architect Chayo Frank as his personal residence hit the market, and over the summer, our “Ultimate Homes” series took readers inside a sprawling Ponce-Davis mansion that sports a Zen garden and a waterfall-fed pond.
