Stefano Gabbana’s Glamorous Superyacht Is Up for Charter and Sale

You can now take to the seas like one of Italy’s most famous couturiers.

Stefano Gabbana’s ultra-stylish superyacht, Regina D’Italia or “Queen of Italy” in English, has just joined the charter market for the very first time, with rates starting at €480,000 (about $570,000) per week. It comes shortly after the 213-footer was presented for sale at the Monaco Yacht Show last September, with an asking price of €54 million (roughly $64.2 million). That means you essentially have the chance to try before you buy.

Delivered by Codecasa in 2019, Regina D’Italia is based on the Italian yard’s successful 213-foot platform and combines a sturdy steel hull with a lightweight aluminum superstructure. Though the exterior lines and naval architecture come courtesy of Codecasa, the interiors were designed by M2 Atelier and Gabbana himself. Following years of confidential development and meticulous construction, the vessel is finally being revealed in full.

The highly distinctive living quarters are at once elegant and dramatic, reflecting Gabbana’s instantly recognizable aesthetic. Since cofounding Dolce & Gabbana with Domenico Dolce in 1985, the designer has earned a reputation for bold, unapologetically glamorous creations that showcase the finest Italian craftsmanship. That is also evident within the Queen.

The palette combines rich blue hues with pale oak and teak, creating a striking juxtaposition of dark and light. Brazilian marble, which is typically reserved for high-end jewelry, has been artfully applied throughout and is complemented by blue accents that intensify as you move up through the decks. (Light blues appear on the lower deck, deeper blues on the upper.)

The main salon is decked out with mirrored ceilings and blue silk panels, creating an opulent feel. That extends to the dining area, which is anchored by a Fornasetti table and stately throne-style chairs in a leopard print that is quintessentially D&G. Elsewhere on the main deck lies the full-beam owner’s suite. Fit for a fashion king, the lavish quarters comprise a bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and mirrored ceilings, two separate bathrooms with chic marble finishes, and two supersized walk-ins lined in silk, astrakhan, and velvet.

As for guest accommodations, four symmetrical cabins are located on the lower deck, with two twins forward and two doubles aft. Each comes with a private bathroom featuring more marble and mirrored ceilings. All guest bathrooms also come with bronze taps shaped like different Italian hand gestures. The same sculptures can be found on the staircase. A sixth cabin is located just behind the captain’s cabin on the bridge deck and can be used for guests or crew or even turned into a massage room.

An elevator leads to the upper deck, which is home to a gym with mirrored walls and a 23-foot swimming pool covered in a marble mosaic. Eight teak sun loungers surround the pool, making it a perfect spot to catch rays. The area turns into an open-air lounge at night with ambient lighting to set the mood. Back down below, the fixed aft platform and a two-part extendable beach club provide ample waterside entertaining space and direct access to the sea.

Powered by two 2,000 hp Caterpillar engines, the 1,300 GT yacht has a max speed of 18.5 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots, and a range of 4,300 nautical miles at 13 knots. Throughout her inaugural charter season, she will explore the stunning Italian coastline and islands.

Ocean Independence has been appointed as the central agent for both the sale and charter of Regina D’Italia. Chief commercial officer Toby Maclaurin says the brokerage firm is “delighted” to bring the yacht to clients. “Her arrival represents a rare and refined new presence on the Mediterranean charter market,” he adds.
