Here’s one motorcycle helmet that will make it that much easier to focus on the road ahead.

Shoei and EyeLights have teamed up for a forward-thinking piece of protective headgear called the GT-Air 3 Smart, which they say is the world’s first to feature a fully integrated augmented display, according to New Atlas. The helmet features a built-in head-up display (HUD) that allows riders to see how fast they’re going or where they need to turn without looking at any additional hardware.

Enthusiasts will know Japan’s Shoei, one of the most trusted helmet makers in the world, but they’re less likely to be familiar with France’s EyeLights. When the company isn’t busy designing outrageous motorcycle concepts, like the Rocket One, it spends its time building HUD systems and Bluetooth audiokits for helmets.

Now, the company is working directly with Shoei to make its popular GT-Air 3 full-face model even more capable. The premium Smart variant features a visor with EyeLigh’s third-generation HUD system built in. The integrated display uses nano-OLED technology to ensure it can be read even in direct sunlight and depicts information like bike speed, radar warnings, and GPS navigation. Eyelights claims that the display, which projects information three meters (nearly 10 feet) in front of the rider, increases reaction time by 32 percent, since they no longer have to look down at their cockpit or handlebars-mounted phone.

The helmet also features a fully integrated premium audio kit. The setup features a Bluetooth microphone and speakers, making them both compatible with Android and iOS (including their voice assistants) so that they can be used with your smartphone. Eyelights claims that this gives the GT-Air 3 Smart the most powerful intercom on the market. Equipped with both online and mesh offline modes, it allows the rider to easily converse with anyone with a compatible communication system, even those made by other brands.

A helmet that does all of that isn’t exactly a bargain, though. The Shoei GT-Air 3 Smart starts at $1,199, which is $420 more than the starting price for the standard helmet. It’s available in five colors (White, Matte Black, Matte Blue, Matte Metallic Gray, and Real TC10) and can be pre-ordered now through the Eyelights website.
