Porsche and SMEG Unveil a New Line of Car-Inspired Kitchen Appliances

Porsche is bringing a racy twist to boring kitchen gear.

The German marque has teamed up with Italian powerhouse SMEG on a new collection of high-end home appliances. The co-branded pieces pay tribute to Porsche’s motorsport heritage and racing triumphs, while showcasing SMEG’s iconic retro style and renowned craftsmanship, making them suitable for car enthusiasts and design buffs alike.

“At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared philosophy: to craft objects that are not only functional but also emotionally resonant,” Stefan Büscher, CEO of Porsche Lifestyle Group, said in a statement. “Porsche, with its legacy of engineering excellence and motorsport triumphs, and SMEG, renowned for its timeless appliances and Italian design flair, have come together to create a collection that is as bold as it is beautiful.”

The stars of the lineup are the limited-edition versions of the FAB28 refrigerator ($4,499) and the BCC12 automatic coffee machine ($1,599). The two take design cues from the Porsche 917 KH that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, earning the nameplate its first overall victory at the prestigious race. Piloted by German driver Hans Herrmann and British racer Richard Attwood, the car was decked out in the now-legendary Salzburg livery of vivid red and white stripes. The fridge and coffee machine showcase the same eye-catching colorway, as well as a lollipop with the starting number (23) of the Le Mans winner. Both are limited to 1,970 examples in another nod to the historic race. Each one is fitted with a metal plate inscribed with a unique number.

The collab also includes two other exclusive ranges finished in distinctive Porsche hues: one is Carrara White and the other is Shade Green. Both include Porsche-ified takes on the FAB28 fridge and the BCC12 coffee machine, as well as the Retro-Style blender, seven-cup electric kettle, and two-slice toaster. Porche touches have been cleverly incorporated throughout. The fridge, for example, has a special door and handle design that mirrors the 911 GT3 RS. You can also expect matte black accents, subtle striping, clean, sculptural silhouettes, Porsche-inspired icons, and custom numbering. Pieces range from $349 to $4,499.

Beyond aesthetics, the appliances are designed to make everyday tasks that bit easier. The coffee machine, for instance, has a built-in grinder and delivers a professional-level cup of java at the touch of a button. It is small yet powerful—kind of like your 911.

The collection is available exclusively through SMEG and Porsche stores as well as online via the respective brand websites.
