This new private jet cabin aims to take your group travel to new heights.
German aviation tech firm Lufthansa Technik and Designworks (owned by the folks of BMW) is unveiling a modular new narrowbody cabin concept at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo. The pair’s layout, called the Bow, is focused on adding a more group-friendly approach to skies, whether you’re traveling as part of a board of directors, a sports team, or a band on tour; the new blueprint was inspired by travelers’ desire for more flexible, design-focused experiences while on the go, according to Lufthansa.
And the duo’s combination of leading aviation tech and automotive design history are certainly on display here. Each private suite, which can fit for one or two passengers, has a smooth, curved exterior with touches of silver, much like a supercar. Inside, the seating has personal storage and moveable partitions for more seclusion or more socialization onboard as well as moody lighting. Every pod can also close on its own, too, meaning that you and your 27 fellow travelers can choose just how much you’d like to interact throughout the flight. Of course, the concept’s layout can be reconfigured as the owner would like, whether you chose to opt for more social spaces, a larger bar, or greater privacy for meetings.

Elsewhere onboard, the concept offers up a sleek reception and lobby space filled with more curved silhouettes, complete with a bar, a gradient screen, and a service table and seating. Moving into the central lounge, that space has two curved touchscreens and a large presentation table, which can be used for board meetings or dining.
“With ‘The BOW’, we are elevating group centric VIP travel to a completely new level,” Fabian Nagel, Lufthansa Technik’s vice president of sales VIP & special aircraft services, said in a press statement. “This concept offers customers unprecedented flexibility and allows operators to tailor every mission with an experience that is both highly functional and luxurious. ‘The BOW’ also creates a unique opportunity to experience the full suite of our products directly interfacing with the VIPs in one coherent environment.”
In terms of tech, the concept plays host to Lufthansa’s Hidden Touch Display, OLED screens, and Omni-Fi speakers for an immersive sound experience. If you want to see more of the new concept, you can check it out at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg from April 14 to 16.
