Justin Baldoni’s SoCal Estate Lists for $9 Million

Justin Baldoni doled out $2.1 million for a modern Spanish-style residence in the California city of Santa Paula on the outskirts of Ojai in the Santa Clara River Valley around six years ago. Now, after briefly listing the place for rent late last year at $40,000 per month, the It Ends With Us star and director has officially put the revamped property back up for sale at a dash under $9 million. Lester Cook of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.

Originally built in 2003, Baldoni and his wife, Emily, implemented a full-scale remodel and expansion of the premises, working in collaboration with a design team from Pottery Barn to create a sprawling compound that doubles as a private resort. Their vision came to life in a white stucco and red terracotta-roof structure with five bedrooms and five baths in roughly 5,200 square feet of soothing and neutral, vacation-inspired living space that was featured in Architectural Digest in 2023.

“When we went to Tulum and parts of Mexico, we would take pictures of lamps, or couches—just as inspiration—and then we started to put together a Pinterest board of things that we liked,” Baldoni told AD. “My mom is a feng shui master. So we designed the whole house with feng shui in mind.”

Added Emily, “We also live in such a magical place…so we also wanted to let that inspire our home. We have mountains. There’s rock, stone, water—it’s very earthy, very natural, and absolutely gorgeous. We wanted it to feel like a sanctuary when we come home.”

Tucked away on a private gated road, amid 10 acres boasting a regenerative fruit orchard, the two-story primary dwelling is highlighted by a spacious living room that has a fireside reading nook overlooking the Topa Topa Mountains and direct access to an outdoor kitchen. A family room and dining area connect to an eat-in kitchen, which is outfitted with Shaker-style cabinetry, a subway tile backsplash, and a Thermador range, while an upstairs primary suite is equipped with electromagnetic frequency shielding for the ultimate in rest and relaxation.

As for the grounds, the couple wanted a backyard oasis they could enjoy year-round, whether that was playing by the pool with their kids, hosting a party, or watching the sunset. The result? A large saltwater pool, lighted pickleball and basketball courts, an in-ground trampoline, a putting green, a grass sports field, a waterfall-fed koi pond, a fire pit area, and walking paths. There are also a pair of imported geodesic domes for yoga and guests, a custom tiny home, and a garage converted into a gym.

The filmmaker, who is also known for his five-season run as Rafael Solano on Jane the Virgin, has long been embroiled in a legal battle over alleged sexual harassment and retaliation with his It Ends With Us co-star, Blake Lively. According to Deadline, recent court-ordered settlement talks have been unsuccessful, with the pair most likely headed to a jury trial.

The New York Post reported that Justin and Emily Baldoni recently made a move to Nashville, acquiring a newly built six-bedroom, six-bath home last summer for $3.4 million through a trust. They also still maintain a Los Angeles farmhouse they purchased in 2017 for just over $1 million.
