Inside the Influencer Caitlin Covington’s North Carolina Home

Caitlin Covington was “just kidding” when she said she was going to put her wildly popular Christian Girl Autumn posts on pause this year, but she was dead serious when it came to the design of her new home in North Carolina.

The influencer, best known to her 1.3 million Instagram followers for her over-the-top fall photoshoots and her lifestyle blog Southern Curls and Pearls, recently unveiled her custom residence in Winston-Salem, a ground-up new build that would be just at home in the Provence countryside, with Covington and her team drawing inspiration from French architecture and design.

For Covington’s first custom home, she worked closely with architect Greg Koester, builder Jonathan Lee, and designer Kate Marker. The project was a true melding of creative minds, with the entire group collaborating to source details like the antique weathered stone flooring in the foyer and the centuries-old reclaimed beams that line many of the ceilings. Other materials that came directly from France, courtesy of Vintage Elements, include the handmade terracotta roof tiles that top off the exterior and the aged brick that surrounds the multiple fireplaces in the home.

Sprinkled throughout are contemporary pieces that bring the home into the modern age and turn it into an influencer-ready spread. As a content creator, Covington made sure that her office, framed by powder-blue doors, could comfortably fit her team, and the large open kitchen is exactly what you’d expect to see on Instagram, with a marble backsplash and gold hardware. Still, it’s functional enough that Covington’s husband, Chris, as the household chef, can easily whip up meals for their family.

Upstairs, the kids’ bedrooms are covered in pastel colors and cutesy details like bunny wallpaper and scallop-edged bathroom vanities, while the primary suite is a more mature hideaway, with gentle hues and a fireplace in the bedroom. The white-marble bathroom, meanwhile, sports a serene soaking tub, and an arched doorway frames the shower. Downstairs, a stone wine cellar is one of the moodier rooms.

Along the exterior of the home, baby-blue shutters frame every window, and out back, they play off the color of the water in the pool, which is surrounded by vintage-looking loungers and umbrellas that evoke the glamour of the French Riviera. A full outdoor lounge includes plenty of seating around the wood-burning fireplace, plus a shaded dining table and an outdoor kitchen. It all feels quite picture-perfect—exactly what you expect from a savvy social media influencer.
