Billionaire Larry Silverstein and British supermodel Naomi Campbell have at least one thing in common: they both once called 500 Park Avenue home.

Silverstein lived in the discreet white-glove condo tower in Midtown starting in the early 1980s, while Campbell scooped up an apartment there from restauranteur Giuseppe Cipriani in 2005 but only lived there until about 2007. Architect and exhibition designer Wendy Evan Joseph, who’s worked on prominent projects like the Smithsonian Design Museum, has also shacked up in the post-war high-rise, in a sprawling duplex penthouse now available for $15 million with Frances Katzen of Douglas Elliman.

The designer, who’s also aided in the design of the Canarsie Library, N.Y.C.’s first public mass timber building, has owned the sky-high pad for more than 30 years, according to records, and has overseen significant architectural and system-level enhancements to the home, including custom wood installations with book-matched detailing (designed to complement and frame rare first-edition literary works), as well as integrated Lutron lighting, an upgraded AC system, and bespoke marble bathrooms.

Starting on the 39th floor, the crown jewel spans more than 9,000 square feet with an impressive seven bedrooms and four full bathrooms. Its four exposures, plus a generous terrace, provide eye-popping vantages of Midtown Manhattan and Central Park.

A circular gallery sits ahead of the elevator that arrives into a private vestibule. The living room features a wall of picturesque windows framing the cityscape, while wood-finished pocket doors open into the library. The adjoining terrace has 180-degree views of the surrounding skyscrapers, while the chef’s kitchen is stocked with a La Cornue range and teal stone countertops. Nearby are a sunlit breakfast area, a media room, and an extensive pantry and service hall that open into the corner dining room.

A study with a fireplace, an ensuite bedroom, and a powder room round out the lower level, along with an arresting staircase rising from a large gallery to the upper floor, where six more bedrooms include the primary suite privately sequestered in a secluded wing.

The suite is highlighted by epic vantages over Central Park, plus two fitted dressing rooms and two marble-clad baths. One guest bedroom includes a wet bar and a separate sitting room, while another has a private bath.

Residents pay hefty maintenance fees—in the case of Joseph’s penthouse they tally up to nearly $17,000 per month—to cover a range of services and amenities, including full-time
