At long last, the frigid temperatures much of the country has experienced this winter are giving way to warmer weather and longer, sunnier days. It’s as if the atmosphere is breathing a sigh of relief. And right on cue, spring’s best new menswear seems to match that more relaxed mood. Rendered in easy-to-wear neutral shades that will slip easily into even the most tightly curated wardrobes, these are clothes built for real life, not just the runway. Take Brioni’s smarter take on the denim jacket, Caruso’s peerless linen tailoring, or Giorgio Armani’s richly colored asymmetrical coat—a voluminous way to fend off the last of the season’s chill without looking like a film character. The point of these well-made clothes is to look like you’re at ease—even when you have to get all dressed up.
