Demi Lovato doled out $8.3 million for a modern Los Angeles mansion in the foothills directly above the Laurel Canyon enclave of Hollywood Hills about a decade ago. Soon after, the Disney Channel alum-turned-global pop star suffered a near-fatal drug overdose that landed her in the hospital for almost two weeks, followed by a stay at an inpatient rehab facility.
The Sorry Not Sorry singer then embarked on a comeback after a lengthy hiatus, making an emotional return to the stage at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards to perform Anyone, a ballad she recorded just days before her overdose. She also sang the National Anthem at the 2020 Super Bowl and released Dancing With the Devil, a YouTube documentary series detailing the night of the overdose, the long-term damage, and her road to recovery.

During her journey, she sold her Hollywood Hills residence to restaurateur Sam Jordan for $8.25 million, just a dash under the $8.3 million she paid in 2016, and picked up a newly built estate in L.A.’s family friendly Studio City neighborhood for $7 million. Now the former digs have popped up for sale again, this time asking just under $11 million. James Harris and Alexis Perry of Carolwood Estates share the listing.
Set beyond walls and gates on over an acre at the end of a quiet road directly above the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel, the boxy white and brown structure was originally built in 1979. Updated before Lovato’s tenure, it features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms across roughly 5,500 square feet of three-level living space overlooking picturesque views stretching from the downtown skyline to the Pacific Ocean.

Among the highlights is a double-height living room boasting a linear fireplace and pocketing doors spilling outside, plus an eat-in kitchen furnished with sleek marble countertops, a breakfast nook, and a lounge area. A posh upstairs primary suite sports a fireside sitting area, a private balcony, dual walk-in closets, and a luxe bath flaunting a rainfall shower for two, while a penthouse level holds a wet bar and media room opening out to a sky-lounge terrace.
Rounding it all off in style are the landscaped grounds, which host a zero-edge pool and a raised spa surrounded by a sundeck, along with a barbecue nestled beside an alfresco dining area. There’s also a private trail leading to a cliffside gazebo that serves as a gym, as well as a spacious motor court and an attached two-car garage out front.
Coming up, look for Lovato, who is now married to musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, to appear at the 37th GLAAD Media Awards event in L.A. on March 5, ahead of launching her It’s Not That Deep North American Tour, which kicks off in April.
