I’m thrilled to share my journey of transforming our backyard into a stunning Caribbean resort oasis. Picture this: a space where you can unwind, soak up the sun, and feel like you’ve just stepped off a plane from a tropical getaway—all without leaving home. Thanks to my amazing partners at Lowe’s and the talented Homestyle Decorators, I’ve brought the essence of a staycation hotel right to our doorstep.
When I envisioned this project, I knew I wanted to capture the laid-back luxury of the islands. My goal was to create a sanctuary that exudes relaxation, with all the little touches that make you feel pampered. From the vibrant colors to the soothing sounds of nature, every detail is designed to transport you to a Caribbean paradise.
Lowe’s was instrumental in this transformation. They offered a fantastic range of materials, outdoor plants. Homestyle Decorators personal shopping furniture and décor that perfectly captured that resort vibe. I found the coziest lounge chairs and a beautiful canopy with a stylish flair that invites you to linger. And of course, no oasis is complete without lush greenery! I picked up a variety of tropical plants to bring that vibrant island feel right into our backyard.
One of my favorite additions was the resort-style gift shop corner. Inspired by those charming hotel boutiques, I set up a little nook dubbed the “Resort Club” filled with curated items that embody the spirit of relaxation—think artisan items, chic beach fashions, hats, jewelry, snacks and even some local artwork. It’s a spot that not only enhances the ambiance but also gives you a taste of the luxury you’d find on vacation. These will also be yours to shop online soon.
Homestyle Decorators helped me pull everything together beautifully. Their insights on the process to design a small layout with color and texture made all the difference. We layered flexible sofa, sheer fabric white curtains, added outdoor wicker furniture, and even incorporated some ambient lighting to create that magical evening atmosphere. Trust me, it feels like pure bliss! I just got a vintage tv that plays cd’s to add to watch old movies.
