Benetti is ready for formal introductions. After sharing a sneak peek of its new B.Neos model at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September, the Italian yard has fully unveiled the 131-foot hybrid.
The B.Neos is distinguished by a daringly simple design that eschews the flashy opulence of many a contemporary superyacht in favor of quiet luxury. That “quiet” extends to the cruising experience, too, with the yacht capable of switching into fully electric mode to eliminate both noise and emissions.
Renowned British designer Malcolm McKeon, famous for creating elegant, unfussy sailing yachts, penned the exterior, combining the sleekness and balance of a sloop with the volume and comfort of a superyacht. Sharp, architectural lines and a low-profile silhouette give the B.Neos a cool, understated feel that Benetti hopes will appeal to the new wave of younger yacht owners seeking simplicity over grandeur.

The interiors are equally pared-back, with Francesca Muzio opting for warmth and hominess over formal perfection. With a volume of 296 GT, the yacht offers a generous, open-plan layout with five cabins for up to 10 guests. By positioning the wheelhouse forward on the main deck, Benetti cleared the entire upper deck for the owner. (Such owners’ decks are usually reserved for much larger vessels.) Accessed via a private lobby, the panoramic owner’s suite forward spans just over 260 square feet and opens to a personal terrace with a glass balustrade that dissolves into the horizon.
At the heart of the living quarters lies a family kitchen. The antithesis of a stuffy, traditional dining room, the relaxed dining area is perfect for casual meals or cooking sessions with parents and kids. The nearby, glass-encased sea atrium seamlessly connects the low-key salon to the aft beach club, where a large pool and long lounges are ready for family fun. More family time can be spent upstairs on the observation deck, with a huge sunpad offering sweeping views of all below.

Design aside, Benetti says the B.Neos is the first displacement yacht under 300 GT to feature hybrid propulsion as standard. Based on twin MAN V-8 engines, the propulsion system offers multiple operating modes, including Zero-Emission for silent, fully electric cruising, Diesel-Electric and Crossover for fuel efficiency, and Boost for instant torque. In addition, Hotel Mode allows the yacht to run quietly on electricity alone at anchor. As for range and speed, the B.Neos can cover 2,600 nautical miles at 10 knots. New onboard tech means the yacht uses 30 percent less energy than other vessels of the same size, too.
It’s a pleasure to properly meet you, B.Neos.
