What exactly is “Scandifornian” style? Just like it sounds, it’s Scandinavian minimalism mixed with a warm California vibe. And almost nowhere is the design aesthetic more apparent than at this striking teak and basalt stone villa in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood of Los Angeles that is now available for $19.5 million with Drew Jacobson and Adam Bachenheimer of The Agency.
“The newly completed Hutton House is the result of a rare creative partnership where design, vision, and craftsmanship intersect at the highest level,” said Jacobson and Bachenheimer, who also conceived and developed the project in partnership with Christian Toxboe and Daniel Green. The team enlisted architect Tim Bonefeld and Blackbriar Construction to bring their shared vision to life, resulting in a ground-up build that replaced an older single-family residence acquired in early 2022.

Tucked behind walls and gates on nearly an acre of oak tree-laced land with picturesque canyon views, the two-story abode has six bedrooms and 10 baths across 9,000 square feet, as well as floor-to-ceiling Fleetwood pocketing doors that blur the line between the indoors and outdoors. The pad also offers two laundry rooms, Savant technology, midcentury Scandinavian furnishings, and a three-car garage.
On the main level, a curving floating staircase is topped by sculptural chandeliers, while a formal dining room comes with a climate-controlled wine closet and a wet bar. A fireside family room connects to the kitchen, which is outfitted with a 15-foot custom stone island, Miele appliances, a breakfast banquette with built-in seating, a pop-up window for alfresco entertaining, and a secondary prep kitchen.

A posh upstairs primary suite sports a floating plaster fireplace, a private balcony, two showroom-style closets, and a luxe bath with a steam shower and a birchwood sauna. Elsewhere is a bookshelf-lined office, a movie theater, and a gym.
Rounding it all off is a terraced backyard, which holds a zero-edge infinity pool with a spa and swim-up bar, several fire pit lounges, and outdoor kitchens above, and a pickleball court with stadium seating below.
