A Lamborghini Countach With Only 2,000 Miles on Dial Can Now Be Yours

A barely driven Lamborghini Countach can now find its way to your garage.

The black beauty with just 3,300 kilometers on the odometer—or around 2,000 miles—is now up for auction via Bring A Trailer. The 1988 Countach is one of just 680 examples and one of the last of the Countach line, which was made from 1974 until 1990. The 5000 Quattrovalvole version was first sold new from a dealer in Long Island and stayed with its owner for decades before it was sold to a different dealer in 2024. Now, it has been lightly refurbished and prepped for sale.

Under the hood is a 5.2-liter V-12 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. That was enough for 420 horsepower when the Countach left the factory, and likely makes around that much power today. The wheels are 15 inches wide and gold, and the model is also road-ready.

“This example left the factory finished in Nero Tenebre (215554) and features U.S.-specification bumpers and taillights along with pop-up headlights, Hella fog lights, and a V-shaped rear wing,” according to Bring A Trailer’s listing.

The brake fluid, transmission fluid, and oil have all been changed to get the car ready to be sold. The Lamborghini manuals are also included, as is an award from a 2025 show in Greenwich. The 1988 Countach hasn’t been preserved in amber, but it’s a highly well-kept version of a car that was posterized and kept on the wall of many a young person in the 1980s, many of whom are likely among the bidders.

That the car hasn’t been driven much suggests that its longtime owner had other things to do—the listing mentions that it was part of his collection—but also possibly a function of the fact that the Countach is famously more fun to look at than to pilot.

As of this writing, the Countach is up to $645,000 on Bring A Trailer, with a day left to go in the auction. Right now, that’s about the average price for a well-preserved Countach, according to historical auctions on Bring A Trailer, though this one could fetch a bit more than average considering its condition.
