Tucked into the ultra-exclusive Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills, where names like Elvis Presley, Jennifer Aniston, and President Richard Nixon have shacked up, this midcentury-inspired masterpiece brings a unique flavor to a neighborhood renowned for panoramic views stretching to the Pacific Ocean. The low-slung stunner, offered fully turnkey with its hand-picked collection of designer furnishings, is available at $24.995 million with Ginger Glass of Compass.
The award-winning firm Lucas Design Studio (LDS) handled the 6,500-square-foot home’s architecture and interior spaces, while Shubin Donaldson of Donaldson + Partners created the wood-slatted fencing and driveway gate that shields the home from the street. A solemn sculpture overlooks a reflecting pool alongside the burled wood front door, and the light-filled foyer provides gallery-sized wall space for hanging blue-chip artwork, just ahead of a funky (and rare) Paul Evans wavy front credenza.

The dining room features a Herve Van der Straeten dining table included in the asking price.

A custom twig-like light fixture by L.A. artist David Wiseman hovers over the sunken TV lounge nearby. “Wiseman cast acorns from the property’s trees, incorporating them into the intricate design,” according to press materials. Natural light streaming in through glass walls spills over a curved Vladimir Kagan sofa, as well as an Ado Chale coffee table that stretches out over a custom wool and silk rug by Fedora Design. Wiseman also made an eye-catching mirror for the terrazzo-floored powder room.
A veined stone island sits at the heart of its open-plan kitchen, where wire-brushed and cerused rift oak cabinetry encapsulates a pair of stainless-steel ovens, plus a hideaway breakfast bar and wine fridge. The scenic dining room features one of the home’s four gas fireplaces to keep residents warm and cozy year-round.

For such a large house, there are only two bedrooms—a potential downside for growing families—and a total of four bathrooms. The primary suite, with a custom-upholstered bed next to a bank of floor-to-ceiling glass, features a collection of ceramics by Roger Capron and white quartzite accents throughout the spacious bathroom. Other highlights include an office lined with floating shelves, a wine cellar, and a fitness room.
The backyard is as carefully considered as the house. A covered patio is ideal for alfresco dining, while a sunken lounge with cushioned banquettes and a fire pit is cleverly worked into the design of the zero-edge pool, the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the mountainous landscape.
