The culture of hip hop has always been known for individuality and style. Lil Kim being the reigning queen to introduce hip hop to luxury clothing and designer labels. As the years of hip hop advanced they are only a few artist that has kept the culture moving in the direction where luxury brands are seen on hip hop artist and talents. Although, the consumers who purchase these items are usually influenced by their favorite reality Tv star, hip hop artist and talent.
At the BET Hip Hop Awards in Miami, I watched very carefully to see the wave and where is the direction of fashion for the ladies of the culture is heading.
I must say reviewing the talents walking the green carpet, I was not impressed with the fashion choices presented. Nothing wrong with sparkles and sequins but I think the trend of blinged out clothing and shoes has been over lived and done for 2017. However, the talents makeup and hair looked beautiful. My favorite hairstyles were Rapper Cardi B & Tommie.
Until I saw Love & Hip Hop Reality Star Tommie & her friend TightDaDiva I was like oh yes! Now this is fashion, Hip Hop culture needs this level of fashion. From head to toe flawlessly executed to perfection. Tommie’s with her glasses on reminded me of a young Iconic Iris Apfel .
Their fashion stylist is Kendrick Cavallrii, he surely delivered a stellar style and it demanded all the attention on the green carpet. I will be doing a full BET who wore it best airing date soon. Be sure to subscribe to our blog get the date.
